The team at Zurich enjoyed a gloriously sunny day hunting for the newly placed Gromit sculptures across Bristol yesterday in support of Jessie May!
The team raised a fantastic £457.50 for Jessie May through the charity walk and spotted 40 sculptures across the city along the way. The team also met two Jessie May nurses as their day drew to a close, who had taken one of the children we support outside to enjoy the sunshine.
Carla Mandis, from Zurich Community Trust, told Jessie May: “What a beautiful sunny day it was for a Gromit walk! Just after 9am, the Zurich team hitched up to the start point to receive a lovely greeting by Julian from Jessie May. He spent some time telling us about how the money raised would support vital nursing care for very poorly children. Inspired by the chat, we took to the streets to raise those much needs funds!
“Despite the heat, the team were in very good spirits as they walked around Bristol – 40 amazing sculptures visited and photographed – what a wonderful way to see Bristol, appreciate its beauty and art while raising money for such a good cause.
“Throughout the journey, a sit down with Wallace on one of his benches gave us a welcome relief for our weary feet! The day ended with a photo with Spaceman Wallace outside of the Bristol Children’s Hospital where we were delighted to see two Jessie May nurses – these lovely ladies had taken one of the children in their care outside for some fresh air – seeing them in action was a really wonderful end to our walk.”
Huge thanks to Zurich and Zurich Community Trust for their support, as well as everyone who donated and supported their team!
