Jessie May welcomes volunteers from our corporate supporters to come and work with us.
Our most pressing need is always for fundraising volunteers and there are plenty of ways your workplace can get involved, from bake offs to skydives! Are you able to help us fund a Jessie May Nurse in the workplace by holding a bake sale or taking on a challenge, such as a bungee jump or charity bike ride? Get in touch!
If you are part of a business looking for ‘a day to make a difference’ opportunities, please contact our fundraising team who will be happy to help organise and promote before and on the day!
Volunteering at Respite Days
Throughout the year we hold respite days for our children. This allows our children and their families to come together and enjoy a fun day, creating treasured memories. These days usually have fun themes and this year the theme is ‘Seaside’. In order to run the Respite Days, we need a little extra help from volunteers with the preparation as our care team don’t usually have time.
We would love a team of volunteers to come into our office and spend a few hours getting involved with painting pictures for the walls, making props for the day and doing all the fun stuff that our care team struggle to find time to do. If you’d like to offer help with upcoming Respite Days, please get in touch.
Volunteering at Christmas
We would also need the same sort of help from corporate volunteers in the run up to Christmas! With the festive season approaching, we need volunteers to help with gift-wrap stalls, as well as wrapping presents we provide to the children, here at our Kingswood office.
We’d love for you and your colleagues to also get involved with the Jessie May Christmas Party for Jessie May families. This year the party takes place on Sunday 25th November at The Holiday Inn, Filton, and we’d hugely appreciate any help offered in the run up to the much-loved event!
Our theme for the Christmas party this year is ‘An Enchanted Winter Wonderland’, and we’re looking for help creating decorations, table centre pieces and art to display around Santa’s Grotto. If your workplace can spare a few hours during the first week of November to help wrap Christmas presents in our office, we would be extremely grateful.
Any donations of wrapping paper or Christmas decorations would also be greatly appreciated, including office-made creations such as snow globes or jam-jars filled with glitter and fairy lights.
If your workplace would like to design and create Christmas artwork to pin decoratively on boards/sheets, we would love to hear from you.
Volunteering at events
We hold several events during the year where volunteers are always needed. This could involve marshalling in a car park or serving tea and coffee. Check out our events calendar to see what’s coming up!
Get in touch
